About me

I discovered Soft Tissue Therapy after being diagnosed with a rare autoimmune muscle disease in 2008 and being told I would be in a wheel chair within months. This prompted a career change from the corporate world and a re-focus of my attention to wellbeing and rehabilitating my damaged muscles, fascia, tendons and ligaments, so that I could walk and eventually run again and ride my horse. Regular soft tissue treatments were a key factor in defying the odds and I eventually decided to study for a year and qualify as a therapist myself.

Since gaining my BTEC Level 5 Diploma I have gone on to study many other techniques. These include Barnes Myofascial Release, Oncology Massage, Scar Therapy, Kinesiology taping for pain and injury plus both Adult and Paediatric Craniosacral Therapy.

Specialising in hands on soft tissue techniques enables me to treat muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia plus the nervous system. I use manual therapies to mobilise/manipulate joints and other structures to increase mobility and reduce pain.

This is a therapy widely used in elite sport, with most squads and professional athletes having at least one Soft Tissue Therapist on their team. In 2022 I worked at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, treating a range of athletes from Badminton and Netball players to Boxers. This was an amazing experience but I am passionate about sharing my skills with members of the general public looking to improve chronic pain, reduce reliance on pain medication or recover from injury and surgery quicker with improved outcomes.

My bespoke treatments can include several types of massage (sports, remedial, deep tissue, relaxation), myofascial release, scar therapy, neuromuscular and craniosacral therapy techniques. These can be blended into one treatment or used individually.

I am qualified to treat babies, children and adults.
